Silicon Beach 2013 – 5th & 6th September
It is hard to deny that technology and our ubiquitous access to information is changing the way we speak to one another, and expect to speak to one another. This means that business needs to change too.
We need to start making things people want rather than making people want things.
For two days this coming September, Bournemouth will be transformed into the centre of the UK’s digital innovation world as the annual Silicon Beach conference returns for its third consecutive year, bringing with it the cream of the UK advertising and digital marketing industries.
This year’s unprecedented line-up features twenty-one renowned speakers, each of whom is a thought-leader in their field. Their job over the course of the intensive two days is to share their vast experience with the audience, educating and inspiring them in equal measure.
And if the seemingly endless stream of tweets from last year’s event (over 1500 across two days, reaching over 210,000 accounts and generating over 1.5m page impressions) was any indication, there was a lot on offer to be inspired by.
But as if that wasn’t enough, once again the bar has been raised. Silicon Beach 2013 is presenting an enviable collection of experts including: an agency Chairman, a global CEO, a European Managing Director, four Creative Directors, two technological evangelists, a brace of Innovation Specialists (that’s a technical term for more than four) and a whole lot of others too. And four of the speakers are best selling authors too – in fact you’ve probably read at least one of their books.
So, should you come to Silicon Beach 2013?
Yes. These talks are for everyone. But don’t just take my word for it (after all, I’ve hand-picked the speakers), read these blog posts written about last years conference:
Lloyd Morgan of the video production company Lloyd Morgan Productions wrote this;
Freelance digital designer Toby Pestridge wrote this account;
Emily Pykett, social media consultant for Watershed PR had this to say;
Musician and creative polymath, Timo Peach of Momo Creative said this;
Marketeer Mark Masters of The ID Group reflected on his experience;
Dan Thomas, Founder of digital agency Moov2 wrote this account; and
Verity Cutler of service design agency Redfront said this.
Although each of these accounts recalls a very different experience, they all share the fact that they were inspired enough to commit their experience to (virtual) paper and share it. Are you still unsure whether you should attend Silicon Beach 2013?
Well if you’ve read this far and you’re still considering attending, you deserve a reward! When booking your tickets, enter the promotional code ‘meetdraw’ and you’ll get 25% off the price of a ticket. That’s just £149 for two days and 21 phenomenal speakers (unless you act before the 31st July, in which case it’ll be £115).
Go on. Do it.
